16 more succumb to coronavirus in Pakistan, 622 infections recorded

ISLAMABAD: 21, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus infections has reached 1,266,826 on Thursday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 622 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.4 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 466,750 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 438,433, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 177,132, in Balochistan 33,149 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,571, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,374 while 34,417 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,328 deaths so far, after 16 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,876 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,536 in Sindh, 5,698 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 354 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 938 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,366,157, corona tests and 44,334 in last 24 hours and 1,213,799 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 446,831 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 416,911 in Punjab, 168,511 in KP, 32,709 in Balochistan, 105,154 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,114 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,569 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,690 patients are in critical condition.
