SHARM EL-SHEIKH: 09.10.2025: After years of violence, a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas officially took effect at 2 PM Pakistan time, Egyptian media reported. The agreement has halted all military operations in Gaza, marking a critical turning point in the conflict.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry described the deal as a significant and delicate moment, with ongoing efforts to strengthen the peace process. Israeli officials confirmed the ceasefire will be formally approved by the Israeli government today, with the release of 20 Israeli captives expected by Sunday or Monday as part of the first phase.
