WASHINGTON: 07.10.2025: The United States will provide Pakistan with AIM-120D-3 AMRAAMs, its most advanced air-to-air missiles, under a $2.5 billion deal awarded to Raytheon. Delivery is expected by 2030.
The contract included missile production for multiple allies, including Pakistan, Turkiye, and other partner nations.
The AIM-120D-3 is a major upgrade for Pakistan’s F-16 fleet, offering extended range, better accuracy, and improved performance in beyond-visual-range (BVR) combat. It will replace the older AIM-120C-5 missiles currently in service.
Defense analysts said this marks a significant boost for Pakistan’s air defense and signals renewed US-Pakistan military cooperation.
The deal followed high-level meetings between PAF Chief Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and US officials in July. Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir also met with US President Donald Trump and defense leaders in the recent months.
