ISLAMABAD: 02.10.2025: Pakistan recorded a 46% rise in terrorism incidents in the third quarter of 2025, with 901 fatalities and 599 injuries, according to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS).

The violence included 329 terror attacks and counter-terror operations, with civilians, security forces, and terrorists among the dead. Notably, a suicide bombing near Quetta’s FC HQ claimed 11 lives, including 2 FC personnel, with officials blaming India-backed militants disguised as security personnel.

The report warned that 2025 may surpass 2024 in total terrorism-related deaths, with 2,414 fatalities recorded so far, compared to 2,546 last year, and one quarter still remaining.

Most violence occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (71% of deaths) and Balochistan (25%), both bordering Afghanistan. Sindh also saw a 162% rise in fatalities, though overall numbers remained lower.

Outlaws accounted for 57% of deaths, but civilians were the most targeted group, suffering the highest number of attacks and injuries.

The report also highlighted the increased precision of counter-terror operations, with fewer injuries among terrorists but higher fatality rates.
