India Bars Sikhs from Attending Guru Nanak’s Anniversary in Pakistan

news-details

NEW DELHI: 16.09.2025: India has refused to allow Sikh pilgrims to travel to Pakistan for the 486th death anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji on September 22 at Kartarpur, despite Pakistan’s invitation.

The closure of the Wagah/Attari border and Kartarpur Corridor means no Indian Sikhs can attend, though pilgrims from the US, UK, and Europe are arriving.

Pakistan had kept its borders open for Sikh pilgrims, but India has not issued the necessary travel permissions. PakistanI Sikh leaders condemned India’s move, calling it a violation of religious rights and promising to address the issue soon.
