Learner of calligraphy

news

Lahore: 12 September 2021: I never call myself a calligrapher. Because i know i haven't learned even 10% of it. I am a learner now. Yes, i can call myself an artist as Calligraphy isn't a small thing that anyone can be that easily. This painting is extremely close to my heart.

The lovely flowers in this painting are called ?Bird of paradise? and ?Heliconias?. They grow in my own little garden. For years they?ve been a witness to my spiritual journey. They?ve seen me struggle and fail, they have seen me collapse then rise again.

These flowers in my garden have seen me break, they?ve seen me heal. These flowers have seen me strive spiritually, they have seen me become who I am!!! Just the way I see them wither, fall and then again grow buds that become gorgeous flowers. Each day brings a new blossom, a new bloom. Not only these beautiful flowers bring colour and happiness to my days, they also teach a very important lesson, that everything that?s blooming and pretty will eventually wither and fall. Similarly after every fall, there come new beginnings. Not every change means an end and not all endings are tragic ones, some may result in glorious beginnings.

Sharing below a beautiful verse by Rumi,
?Grief can be the garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open through everything, your pain can become your greatest ally in your life's search for love and wisdom?
