Pakistan can conduct cross-border operations into Afghanistan to target (TTP)

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif indicated that Pakistan might conduct cross-border operations into Afghanistan to target Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts, amidst a rise in terrorist activities. He dismissed the possibility of dialogue with the banned outfit and emphasized that parliamentary approval would be sought for new actions under the 'Azm-i-Istehkam' strategy.

Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, suggesting talks with Kabul instead of resorting to threats.

In an interview with Voice of America, Asif justified potential strikes on Afghan soil, citing Pakistan's view that Afghanistan has been exporting terrorism into Pakistan and sheltering terrorists. He highlighted that while the TTP operates from Afghanistan, a significant number of its members are active within Pakistan, which he attributed to the policies of the PTI government.
