Pakistan reports 2,060 Covid-19 cases, 42 deaths in a day


ISLAMABAD: 25, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 1,236,888 on Saturday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 2,060 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 4.58 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 454,510 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 427,583, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 172,766 in Balochistan 32,837 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 104,913, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,289 while 33,990 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,524 deaths so far, after 42 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,535 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,327 in Sindh, 5,488 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 184 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 346 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 910 deaths and AJK recorded 734 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,147,075, corona tests and 44,958 in last 24 hours and 1,157,322 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 424,811 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 394,923 in Punjab, 161,528 in KP, 32,261 in Balochistan, 101,491 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,912 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 32,261 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 4,267 patients are in critical condition across the country.
