Terrible Tragedy in Muree occur because of failed administration

Islamabad: 9 January 2022: Terrible tragedy in Murree. Make no mistake - this is a direct result of the incompetence, indifference and callousness of the Federal, Punjab and KP Governments. Since the last 3 years, this government has been harping on about tourism and the work they are doing to boost tourism - seems like like most of the stuff that this government claims, this was also based on lies and fraud.
You cannot make tall claims of boosting tourism without providing even the basic
infrastructure and amenities. You cannot celebrate thousands of cars entering a place in extreme weather without ensuring that strict SOPs, structures and emergency management resources are in place. And you cannot blame the people - some of whom are now dead saying they should have checked the weather conditions before entering Murree. Why didn't the district admin check? Why weren't cars stopped at the toll plaza? Why weren't the local authorities able to control traffic? Where was NDMA? Why did no one respond to the appeals and calls of the stranded people who for more than 24 hours kept calling the authorities and begging them to rescue them?
If there is a parking capacity of 3000 - 4000 cars in Murree, why were more than 100,000 cars allowed to enter the city? why was the federal information minister just a day before boasting and saying that this increase in tourism means an increase in prosperity and income of the common man?
This tragedy didn't happen in some far away mountains or something. People which include children froze to death literally an hour away from the capital - an hour away from where we hear slogans of "Riyasat-e-Madina" every single day, where we are given examples by the Great leader of leaders in different countries resigning when accidents happen under their watch but here we are blaming the dead - as always.
This government can organise as many tourism conferences as they want, they can invite as many gora bloggers and vloggers that they want but it's not going to change the mess that we are in because of this incompetent and insensitive government.
Mind numbing that in this day and age, we are mourning the loss of entire families freezing to death. Will say this again - entire families freezing to death an hour away from the capital of this country - from the seat of the government. Deaths that could easily have been avoided. Have some shame before blaming people for dying. Unjustifiable and inexcusable.
P.S. Please please please don't share the visuals and videos of those who lost their lives in this unimaginable tragedy. They and their families deserve respect and privacy."
