Hyderabad: 16 Jan 2023: The Karachi division of Sindh held elections for the positions of chairman and vice chairman on January 15, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued the final aggregated results of 123 out of 235 union councils on Monday.
PPP is in the lead with 58 union council seats, followed by Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), which has gained 31 seats thus far, according to the preliminary figures. PTI has won 26 seats, PML-N has won four seats, and there is now one seat each for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan, and an independent candidate
The electoral body stated that the final results would be made public by Monday evening.
